In memory of Ofelia Suarez

My mom passed away yesterday, July 8, 2022. She was the smartest person I ever knew, but she didn’t get to go to college. She was a child of the depression and her dad died when she was 16. Education was really important to her and were she a man from a family with more means she would have gone to college. She imbued those values and in me and my sister. My sister received a law degree from the University of Michigan and I received a PhD. In her honor, we are raising funds to finance apprenticeships for young women engaged in social impact projects.
